After an extremely tough and long day at Lucan Pitch and Putt Club, Irish International Padraic Sarsfield took the winning honours by one stroke on -13 with a final round 52, it was enough to take the title on a day where low scores were hard made.
Darren Kane from the host clubs just edged out Dean Grannell on the back 18 for the Runner-up spot. The final 18 prize went to another ‘local’ from Fermoy as Phillip Sweeney a former Lucan affiliate took the prize with a 51 showing the tough nature of the course today.
The ladies prize was won by Glenda Hoey, local knowledge of her home course saw her with a 3 shot victory over the legendary Ger Ward of Portmarnock Pitch and Putt
The Intermediate Gents was won by Eoin Comiskey of the Athgarvan Pitch & Putt Club with local Dermot Heffernan just a shot behind. The Junior Gents was won by Loughlinstown Pitch & Putt member John Boyle with his second round of 55 instrumental in a 4 shot win.
A huge thank you to everyone for their support, Lucan for their hospitality, Orla Creevey, JR Crangle and all of the county board for their word today and throughout for such a successful competition.
A final thank you to John Smith who continually supports the game of pitch and putt as he has done for many years, well done to all the winners
